A highly anticipated, new luxury/lifestyle hotel is coming to Austin and is seeking an inspiring, strategic, and hands-on Director of Food & Beverage to lead the launch and ongoing success of the food & beverage operations. This executive-level role is responsible for driving financial performance, operational excellence, brand consistency, and elevated guest experiences across multiple outlets including restaurants, bars, in-room dining, banquets, and special events.
The ideal candidate brings strong multi-outlet leadership experience, a refined service mindset, and a deep understanding of both financial discipline and experiential hospitality. This role requires a highly collaborative leader who can inspire teams, build culture, and execute at the highest level of service standards.
Position Overview
The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food & beverage operations, including restaurant outlets, bars, and conference & event spaces. This role will lead strategy, execution, financial performance, and team culture while ensuring a best-in-class guest experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong operator with a proven record of managing high-revenue F&B divisions, opening new properties, and developing high-performing leadership teams. This individual will be highly visible on the floor, actively engaging with guests and team members to uphold exceptional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee all restaurant, bar, and conference & event operations
- Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure excellence in food quality, service, and guest experience
- Ensure all outlets consistently meet brand and luxury hospitality standards
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
Opening & Launch Leadership
- Lead recruitment efforts for the opening team
- Oversee training and development initiatives prior to and following launch
- Establish service culture, SOPs, and operational frameworks
- Ensure seamless operational readiness for opening and post-launch stabilization
Financial Management
- Own full F&B P&L responsibility
- Develop annual budgets and forecasting models
- Monitor revenue, labor, and cost controls to drive profitability
- Implement strategies to improve margins and operational efficiency
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, consistency, and pricing integrity
Team Development & Culture
- Recruit, mentor, and develop senior F&B leaders
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork
- Drive guest and team member engagement initiatives
- Maintain strong communication across departments
Guest Experience
- Maintain strong presence on the floor, interacting with guests regularly
- Ensure service standards consistently exceed expectations
- Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and effectively
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of progressive Food & Beverage leadership experience in high-volume, upscale environments
- Minimum 6 years managing high-volume F&B operations generating $20M+ in annual revenue
- Prior hotel or large-scale restaurant opening experience strongly preferred
- Strong P&L ownership and financial acumen
- Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable to the demands of a 24-hour operation
- Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range (Base): $175,000 – $185,000
Bonus: Annual potential up to 30%
